In the first instance, you must ring 999 to call an ambulance and get advice.

The Friarage Hospital, located in Northallerton, is the nearest hospital.

The Urgent Treatment Centre at the Friarage Hospital is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.  You do not need an appointment to attend. You can walk in to the UTC, or you may be directed there by NHS 111.

This centre does not treat life threatening illnesses

The Friarage Hospital is part of the South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and is a satellite to James Cooke University Hospital, located in Middlesbrough.

Please note that there is no overnight consultant provision for children at the Friarage.

Oil Co-operative

In conjunction with Newton Le Willows and Crakehall, villagers are able to order central heating oil with the Newton Le Willows Oil Group Co-operative. Substantial savings are made per litre.
A minimum order of 500 litres must be made.

Weekly collections take place on a Thusday as of 5/6/25, alternating between landfill refuse one week and recycling the next.
Consult  the North Yorkshire Council  Council website for specific details of the cycle of collections.
The garden refuse scheme is by subscription undertaken  by North Yorkshire Counci with collection on alternate weeks to co-incide with the recycling collection day.
