ST. PATRICK’S CHURCH
The Minutes of a meeting of the Parochial Church Council held in Patrick Brompton Schoolroom
Thursday August 31st. 7 p.m.
Present : The Rev. C. Lawton Mr. A. Clark, Mrs. H. Clark, Mr. J. Cole, Mrs. P. Johnson, Mr. W. Parker, Mrs. O. Ryder,
Apologies for absence were received from Mrs. S. Bianco, Mrs. E. Crossley, Mrs. B.Jobling, Mrs. J.Norman, Mrs. M. O'Grady, Mrs. A. Ropner
The meeting opened with prayers and a reading from St. Matthew's Gospel.
Mission & Outreach : Outreach already happening was listed. Renewing the link with Hunton Methodist Chapel, to be discussed at future meetings.
There is a need for a Mission Statement, for the benefice.
Minutes of the last meeting: The minutes of the previous meeting held on May 30th. having been circulated and read, and approved, proposed by P. Johnson, seconded by A.Clark and signed as a true record.
Matters Arising : Discussed in other items.
Correspondence : Correspondence from the diocese which had previously been circulated, was discussed.
Fabric Report : The conversion of the clock to an automatic winding system had been completed, thanks to the Ropner family for meeting this cost. Various items regarding the churchyard were discussed.
Treasurer's Report : Copies of the treasurer's report from May 31st. to August 31st. were distributed and one copy filed. Payment had been made for £9250 of our total share for the year of £14399.
Deanery Synod : The date for the Wensley Deanery Pilgrimage is Saturday September 23rd. The next deanery prayer meeting is September 25th. 11a.m. at Preston under Scarr
Prayer Corner : The collection of poems for the prayer Corner, is being compiled.
Future Church Services : The Harvest Holy Communion Service is on Sunday September 24th. Harvest gifts to be taken to the Richmond Food bank, as last year.
Fundraising & Events : The Christmas Fayre, to be discussed at next meeting.
Date of Next Meeting : Thursday October 5th.
